Detroit is where I was born and where I grew up. This city is intertwined into my DNA. I am first generation Detroiter, and very proud of that. I briefly left the city while in high school, but I kept coming back to hang out with friends and only working in Ann Arbor for as long as I had to. When I got the opportunity to come back to the city, I jumped on it. I started my business and met new people through connections with people I’ve known forever. That sparked a whole different side of passion and love for my city! That lead me to doing tours of the city in 2009. A time when it wasn’t “cool” to show off the city. My intrigue and love started to develop to learn and know more, and giving tours helped with providing that.
The city has gone through so many changes over the years, and we have literally and figuratively lived up to our city seal’s motto: We hope for better things, it will arise from the ashes. This city is innovative, it is a cultural hub, we are resilient, and we are strong. Detroit is my home, Detroit is on fire, and Detroit will always thrive.
